We have all read about or seen the news of the devastation wrought by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. The Masonic Service Association Disaster Relief Fund has issued an appeal on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Texas members, the Grand Lodge of Florida members and the Grand Lodge of Puerto Rico members. (http://www.msana.com/msappeals.asp) These three Grand Lodges have asked for the disaster relief fund appeals to assist their many brethren who have been injured or who have received extensive damage to their homes from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
Donations can be made online at www.msana.com. When remitting by check, please mark clearly that you wish the funds to go to the “Texas Disaster Appeal,” the “Florida Disaster Appeal,” the “Puerto Disaster Appeal” or split in some proportion between the three appeals.
Please forward any donations you feel appropriate to help our devastated Brothers and their families in these stricken jurisdictions to Masonic Service Association. Please make checks payable to MSA Disaster Relief Fund, note clearly which appeal you are helping fund and send to:

The Masonic Service Association is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and as such can receive tax deductible donations. MSA sends the complete amount of every donation to the Masonic Service Association Disaster Relief Fund to the intended recipient. It takes nothing, not a penny nor a stamp, for its administration of the fund raising effort. When giving to the Masonic Service Association Disaster Relief Fund you can be assured that the entire amount of your donation will go to the relief of those distressed by the disaster.
The Grand Master and the Grand Lodge of Minnesota Board of Corporate Trustees heartily endorses these appeals as worthy on Minnesota Masonry’s funding. To help jump start the two appeals, the Corporate Board immediately sent $25,000 for the Grand Lodge of Texas appeal on August 31st. The Corporate Board was meeting on September 9th about the same time Hurricane Irma was making landfall and then voted to send an additional $25,000 in answer to the appeal from the MSA on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Florida. The $25,000 check in answer to the Florida appeal went in the mail on September 14th. On October 3rd, immediately answering the appeal for the Grand Lodge of Puerto Rico, the third of three $25,000 checks went in the mail to the Masonic Service Association Disaster Relief Fund. The Corporate Board authorized these three donations of $25,000 each from the Colonel James B. Ladd Fund, used exclusively for charitable purposes.
Minnesota Masons were on the receiving end of a similar appeal twenty years ago when the flood waters of the Red River of the North ravaged the cities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks and other nearby communities. Now it is our turn to pay it back just a bit.
